Kok-boru Added to the Program of the World Nomad Games

Bishkek – On May 27, 2024, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, Aibek Abdymomonov, announced that Kok-boru has been included in the program of the World Nomad Games. The decision was made on May 20 during a meeting of the parliamentary committee on social policy.

Abdymomonov mentioned that the upcoming Games will feature a total of 20 sports, including alysh and belboo. It was also revealed that 280 athletes from Kyrgyzstan will participate in the Games.

The V World Nomad Games are scheduled to take place in Astana from September 8 to September 14. Over 100 countries and around 4,000 participants are expected to attend the event. The Games have previously been held in Kyrgyzstan in 2014, 2016, and 2018, and in Turkey in 2022.
