Man Shot from Car Window in Jalal-Abad, Suspected Organized Crime Member Arrested
Bishkek – In a shocking incident, a man was shot multiple times from a car window in Jalal-Abad. The suspect, believed to be a member of the criminal group once led by the now deceased crime boss Kamchi Kolbaev, has been apprehended. The regional police department relayed this information to the public.
The incident took place during the night of August 30 when unidentified individuals opened fire on the passenger of a Daewoo Nexia vehicle. The victim was immediately rushed to the regional combined hospital for treatment.
Law enforcement authorities have initiated a criminal case under the charge of “Attempted Murder”.
Following rigorous investigations, a resident of Suzak district – who was known to be associated with Kolbaev’s organized crime group – has been apprehended and placed in a temporary detention facility. In an unexpected turn of events, the detained individual has vowed to renounce any affiliation with criminal activities and to abide by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Additionally, three other residents of Suzak district have also been detained in connection with this ongoing criminal investigation.
As the authorities continue their efforts to establish a motive and gather further evidence, the incident stands as a grim reminder of the persisting challenges posed by organized crime in the region.
