KSMA opens new Center for Clinical Skills Development
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, recently attended the opening of the Center for Development of Clinical Skills and Knowledge Testing at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after Isa Akhunbaev (KSMA). This new facility aims to enhance the education and training of medical students in the country.
During the event, Japarov announced that the wages of medical workers will be increased by a presidential decree. Starting from September 1, the salaries of medical staff will be raised by 50 percent, mid-level medical staff by 20 percent, and junior staff by 10 percent. Additionally, clinical residents and doctors-interns will receive stipends, while doctors in remote areas will receive compensatory payments.
Japarov emphasized the importance of higher education institutions contributing to the social, economic, and cultural development of the regions where they are located. He highlighted the opening of a robotics center at Osh State University and the transfer of Osh City Hospital to the educational institution as examples of positive developments in this regard.
The Chairman also mentioned the ongoing construction of a modern clinic and the opening of the Makerspace Learning Center at the American University of Central Asia, which will focus on developing new engineering projects and solutions.
The new Center for Development of Clinical Skills is equipped with modern facilities for practice and skill development, including operation equipment and artificial manikin-simulators. Japarov also mentioned the completion of a medical training and treatment clinical base in Batken region, which is expected to open in September and will provide modern facilities for students and healthcare professionals.
Overall, these developments in the healthcare and education sector in Kyrgyzstan are expected to contribute to the improvement of medical training and services in the country.
