Kumtor and Boston Consulting Group Collaborate on Digital Solutions
On June 19, 2024, in Bishkek, at the Mining and Geological Forum MINEX Central Asia 2024, President of Kumtor Gold Company, Almazbek Baryktabasov, and Managing Director of Boston Consulting Group, Andrey Novitsky, discussed potential cooperation opportunities.
During the meeting, Baryktabasov expressed Kumtor Gold Company’s interest in collaborating with Boston Consulting Group in areas such as digital solutions implementation, inventory monitoring, and enhancing operations and production processes. He highlighted the unique nature of each production and the importance of adapting solutions accordingly.
Currently, Kumtor Gold Company is undertaking a significant project involving underground mining of gold-bearing ore at an altitude of over 4,000 meters above sea level. Baryktabasov emphasized the company’s commitment to executing this project in line with global ecology standards.
Novitsky, on the other hand, stressed the importance of leveraging innovative and technological solutions in complex operations like gold mining. He mentioned Boston Consulting Group’s expertise in providing consulting services in the mining and geological sectors and expressed readiness to collaborate on improving production efficiency, cost optimization, and integrating artificial intelligence elements.
