Kumtor Gold Company CJSC is taking part in Expo 2024 organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan. The company reported that for three days, visitors of the exhibition will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the products of the company’s branch – a tire recycling plant located in Tokmak city, Chui region.
The director of the enterprise, Alexander Smetanin, emphasized that participation in the exhibition is an excellent opportunity to showcase a unique production facility that has no analogues in Central Asia. He also mentioned that within the framework of the exhibition, they intend to establish business relations with potential buyers of their products. With the plant set to reach full production capacity in the coming months, production volumes of rubber crumb will significantly increase, meeting the existing demand in the market.
Rubber crumb produced by the plant can be used in various applications such as flooring for modern playgrounds, artificial football pitches, rubber floor coverings, textile production, and metalworking. The tire recycling plant, which was opened in 2023 in test mode, focuses on processing and recovering used car tires from the mine. Tires that cannot be recovered are utilized to produce crumb rubber and high-alloy steel.
At full production capacity, the plant will be able to process up to 2 tons of car tires per hour and recover up to 2,000 large-sized and 8,000 medium- and light-sized car tires for special equipment per year. The efforts of Kumtor Gold Company in sustainable waste management and recycling are commendable, showcasing their commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation in the industry.
