Kyrgyz Cultural Icons Honored with Turkmenistan’s Top Cultural Award
Turkmenistan President Awards Cultural and Scientific Figures of Kyrgyzstan
President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, recently awarded cultural and scientific figures of Kyrgyzstan with the prestigious Makhtumkuli Fragi Medal. This high honor was bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of Turkic culture, art, as well as to the study and popularization of the work of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker, Makhtumkuli Fragi. Participants of the event shared this news with 24.kg news agency.
The awarding ceremony took place in the presence of the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, who presented the awards to the following prominent figures from Kyrgyzstan:
– Academician and Director of the Chingiz Aitmatov Institute, Abdyldazhan Akmataliev
– People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, composer Tugolbai Kazakov
– People’s Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic and Secretary General of TURKSOY, Sultan Raev
“The awards highlight the significance of cultural and scientific connections among the Turkic countries and acknowledge the contributions of Kyrgyzstan’s figures to the preservation and enhancement of the common cultural heritage,” remarked the participants of the event.
This year, Turkmenistan is celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker, the pioneer of the Turkmen literary language, Makhtumkuli Fragi. This celebration serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage shared among the Turkic nations and the importance of honoring those who contribute to its promotion and preservation.
