Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov Announces Plans to Launch European Flights
Kyrgyzstanis to Have Direct Flights to European Countries
In a recent announcement during the third People’s Kurultai, President Sadyr Japarov revealed that Kyrgyzstanis will soon have the opportunity to fly directly to European countries. Currently, citizens have to take connecting flights to reach destinations such as Berlin and Paris.
President Japarov explained that Kyrgyzstan has been on the blacklist of the European Union since 2007. However, negotiations are now underway to address this issue. The government is working to bring airports up to international standards, with a commission set to arrive for inspection in May 2025. It is hoped that this inspection will be the final step in removing Kyrgyzstan from the EU blacklist.
Once the country is no longer on the blacklist, preparations will begin to launch direct flights to European countries. This development is expected to enhance travel options for Kyrgyzstanis and strengthen connections between Kyrgyzstan and Europe.
