Kyrgyz-Uzbek Automobile Plant Postpones Launch

Kyrgyz-Uzbek automobile plant launch date postponed

The anticipated launch date for the Kyrgyz-Uzbek automobile plant has been slightly postponed, according to Minister of Economy and Commerce, Daniyar Amangeldiev.

The heads of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan had previously agreed on the launch of the joint enterprise, signing a road map and action plan for the implementation of the project.

Originally planned for the beginning of this year, the launch date has been postponed to the first half of 2024 due to weather conditions. Despite the delay, construction is progressing steadily in the Sokuluk district, and Amangeldiev expressed confidence that the first products will be presented by the end of the first half of the year.

An agreement on cooperation in organizing the production of automotive and commercial vehicles in Kyrgyzstan was signed between Uzavtosanoat JSC, DT Tekhnik LLC, and NUR JSC. The enterprise will be located in the Sokuluk district of the Chui region, and plans to produce Chevrolet, Daewoo, and Isuzu cars.
