Kyrgyz Wrestler Banned for Four Years for Doping Violation
Bishkek – Greco-Roman wrestler Akylbek Talantbekov from Kyrgyzstan has been handed a four-year disqualification for doping, as reported by the International Testing Agency on their website.
The athlete failed a doping test on April 10, 2023, while competing in the Asian Championship in Astana. Subsequently, traces of the banned substance Methasterone were detected in his body.
As a result of this finding, Akylbek Talantbekov has been disqualified until June 11, 2027. This marks a significant setback for the Kyrgyz wrestler and raises questions about the prevalence of doping in the sport.
