Kyrgyzfarmatsiya State-Owned Enterprise Earns 28 Million Soms in 2023

Kyrgyzfarmatsiya, a state-owned enterprise in Kyrgyzstan, has reported a profit of 28 million soms in 2023. The Minister of Health, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, made this announcement during a meeting of the Ata-Zhurt parliamentary faction.

Kyrgyzfarmatsiya has been able to save significant amounts of money by directly negotiating with manufacturers to purchase medicines and medical equipment. This has resulted in savings of 200-600 percent compared to previous purchases made through the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund.

For example, Atorvastatin, which was previously bought for 17 soms per piece, is now being acquired for 1.33 soms by Kyrgyzfarmatsiya. Similarly, Ceftriaxone, once purchased for 220 soms, is now being obtained for 52.74 soms by the state enterprise.

In addition, Kyrgyzfarmatsiya managed to save money by purchasing 20 fluorographs directly from the manufacturer for 6 million soms each, instead of going through a tender for 10 million soms each. This allowed them to use the savings to purchase 11 additional devices.

Overall, Kyrgyzfarmatsiya’s efficient procurement practices have not only resulted in cost savings for the state, but have also enabled the ministry to acquire essential medical supplies at lower prices.
