The goals set forth in the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2026 have reached the halfway point. Cabinet Chairman Akylbek Japarov announced this during a meeting of the Board of the Presidential Executive Office.

Japarov also mentioned that the Cabinet of Ministers has already begun the process of developing a new development program that will span until 2030.

“Kyrgyzstan aims to be among the top 30 countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030,” Japarov stated during the meeting.

One of the key objectives of this new program is to reach a GDP of $30 billion by 2030.

“To achieve this, we need to maintain an annual GDP growth rate of 10-12 percent. With this growth, Kyrgyzstan can potentially increase its GDP per capita and become classified as an upper-middle-income country by 2030. Our development program will be tailored to meet these targets,” the Cabinet Chairman explained.

With half of the goals from the previous program already achieved, the government of Kyrgyzstan is optimistic about the country’s future economic growth and development.
