Kyrgyzstan and China Launch Joint Project, Open Bonded Zone

Bonded Zone Opened in Kashgar to Boost E-commerce and Export Opportunities
On March 9, 2024, a bonded zone was inaugurated in Kashgar, China, marking a significant milestone in the development of e-commerce and export opportunities for domestic products to the Chinese market. The initiative was a result of collaboration between Kyrgyz Pochtasy OJSC, Naryn Free Economic Zone (FEZ), and Kashgar FEZ.
The newly opened bonded zone, with an area of 7,500 square meters, is part of the “Two Countries – Two Parks” project aimed at strengthening economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and China. During the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov, along with officials from Kyrgyz Pochtasy OJSC and government bodies, visited the representative office in Kashgar and the Naryn FEZ bonded zone. They also inaugurated the national pavilion “Made in Kyrgyzstan,” showcasing domestic products that will be stored in the bonded zone and sold through e-commerce platforms.
The implementation of the “Two Countries – Two Parks” project is expected to enhance cooperation between businesses in both countries and elevate it to a more technologically advanced level. Companies in Kyrgyzstan will now have the opportunity to export high-quality goods to one of the largest markets in the world.
This initiative represents an innovative approach to economic development, incorporating the “platform + park” and “institute + enterprise” models. It will facilitate the establishment of 48-hour and 72-hour warehouse-to-warehouse direct transportation services for cross-border logistics between China and Kyrgyzstan.
Overall, the opening of the bonded zone in Kashgar signifies a significant step towards fostering economic growth, trade expansion, and technological advancements between Kyrgyzstan and China.
