Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia Waive Visa Requirements for Diplomatic Passport Holders

President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, has recently signed a new law that will facilitate travel between Kyrgyz Republic and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Law “On ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on mutual exemption from visa requirements for short-term stays of holders of diplomatic and service passports (only for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic) and holders of diplomatic and special passports (only for citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)” was signed on March 7, 2024 in Bishkek.

The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan adopted the document on May 15, 2024. This memorandum allows citizens of both countries to enter each other’s territory without a visa for a period of up to 90 days within any 180-day period, upon presentation of a valid diplomatic or service passport (for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic) and a diplomatic or special passport (for citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

This law aims to enhance business mobility and simplify the movement of citizens holding diplomatic, service, and special passports between the two countries. It is expected to create favorable conditions for the development of bilateral relations and strengthen ties between Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
