
Kyrgyzstan Bans Car Body Imports for Six Months

On March 11, 2025, the 24.kg news agency reported that a six-month ban on the import of car bodies has been imposed in Kyrgyzstan. This new decree was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The Customs and Border Services have been given specific instructions to take measures against any illegal importation of car bodies. The ban will officially come into effect 15 days after its publication.
It’s important to note that this ban will not apply to bodies that are intended for production and assembly within the Kyrgyz Republic. Specifically, car bodies imported by DT Technik, Shumkar Transnational Corporation, Jisu Chinese-Kyrgyz Joint Automobile Manufacturing Company, Shunfa, Murat Avto, Kyrgyz Unaa Kurulush, and Meridian Gold are exempt from this ban.
This new regulation aims to regulate the importation of car bodies and protect local businesses engaged in the production and assembly of vehicles in Kyrgyzstan. Stay tuned for any further developments on this matter.
