Kyrgyzstan Braces for Frosty Weather Forecasted in Alert

Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a weather warning, urging citizens to take precautions against climatic hazards. According to the ministry’s press service, agricultural districts of the Chui and Talas regions can expect frost levels of 0 to -2 degrees Celsius, while Issyk-Kul and Naryn regions may experience temperatures as low as -4 degrees Celsius during the day and at night. Unstable weather, including rainfall and snowfall in mountainous areas, is expected across Kyrgyzstan from May 2-6. As a result, the ministry has advised citizens to avoid traveling or grazing cattle in the mountains. Furthermore, the ministry has also warned of the possibility of avalanches, packed snow, and icy roads on Chon-Ashuu and Sook Ashuu passes. The ministry has urged car owners to maintain a 500-meter distance between vehicles, carry snow chains, first aid kits, hot water, and avoid long trips unless necessary. Citizens are advised to stay updated on the weather forecast and take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
