Bishkek – On May 8, 2024, the 24.kg news agency reported that heavy rains are expected in Kyrgyzstan from May 10 to May 12. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a warning regarding the unpredictable weather conditions that could lead to mudflows in the mountainous and foothill areas of Chui, Talas, Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions.
The ministry also anticipates a rise in water levels in rivers during this period. As a precautionary measure, citizens are urged to exercise caution and take necessary steps to prepare for potential flooding. It is recommended to clear ditches and fortify their banks to prevent any potential damage.
