Kyrgyzstan Closes Two Banks Officially
Bishkek – On September 11, 2024, the 24.kg news agency reported that as of the end of July 2024, there were 21 commercial banks remaining in Kyrgyzstan, which is two fewer than the previous year. The list of these financial institutions can be found on the National Bank website.
In June 2024, Amanbank RK JSC underwent re-registration and became Aman Credit, a microfinance company. Additionally, the branch of the National Bank of Pakistan completed the self-liquidation process that had started in 2021. The total authorized capital of these two banks amounted to 1.4 billion soms.
Despite the decrease in the number of banks, the total capital of the banking sector continued to grow, reaching 68 billion soms. This growth was attributed to an increase in the assets of ten other banks operating in Kyrgyzstan. The financial landscape in the country is evolving, with a focus on strengthening the banking sector and promoting financial stability.
