Kyrgyzstan Athletes Shine at Asian Wrestling Championships
Athletes from Kyrgyzstan have made their mark at the recently concluded Asian Wrestling Championships in Bishkek. The tournament saw Kyrgyzstanis clinch a total of 14 medals, showcasing their talent and prowess on the wrestling mat.
According to reports from the UWW website, Kyrgyzstan brought home four gold, three silver, and seven bronze medals from the championships. Among the champions were Taiyrbek Zhumashbek uulu, Aiperi Medet kyzy, Aisuluu Tynybekova, and Zholaman Sharshenbekov, who stood out with their exceptional performances.
In addition to the gold medalists, athletes such as Ayaal Lazarev, Razzak Beishekeev, and Akzhol Makhmudov secured second place finishes, adding to Kyrgyzstan’s impressive medal haul.
The bronze medals were claimed by Ulukbek Zholdoshbekov, Alibek Osmonov, Aruuke Kadyrbek kyzy, Gulnura Tashtanbekova, Ulan Muratbek uulu, Bekzat Orunkul uulu, and Erlan Manatbekov, further highlighting the depth and talent of Kyrgyz wrestlers.
Looking ahead, the focus now shifts to the Asian qualifier for the Olympics, which is set to take place in Bishkek from April 19 to 21. With their recent success at the Asian Wrestling Championships, Kyrgyzstan athletes will be looking to carry their momentum into the upcoming qualifiers and secure their spots at the prestigious Olympic Games.
