Kyrgyzstan Shines at World Nomad Games in Kazakhstan
On the third day of the World Nomad Games in Kazakhstan, the team from Kyrgyzstan showcased their skills and prowess, winning a total of nine medals. The official Instagram account of the World Nomad Games made the announcement, highlighting the outstanding performance of the Kyrgyz athletes.
With seven gold, nine silver, and seven bronze medals, Kyrgyzstan currently holds the second position in the overall medal standings, following Kazakhstan. The athletes from Kyrgyzstan excelled in various disciplines such as mas-wrestling, audaryspak, archery, and kuresh wrestling.
Additionally, the Kyrgyz teams made a strong start in the kokpar and kok-boru tournaments, securing victories and further adding to their success at the games.
The World Nomad Games, taking place in Astana from September 9 to September 14, have attracted over 100 countries and approximately 4,000 participants. This event serves as a platform to celebrate and showcase the traditional nomadic sports and culture of different nations.
Having previously hosted the games in 2014, 2016, and 2018, Kyrgyzstan has played a significant role in promoting and preserving the rich heritage of nomadic traditions. In 2022, the World Nomad Games were held in Turkey, further emphasizing the global appeal and significance of this unique sporting event.
