Bishkek Implements Temporary Ban on Export of Scrap and Waste Ferrous Metals
On August 15, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers in Bishkek signed a decree imposing a temporary ban on the export of scrap and waste ferrous metals, as well as ferrous metal ingots for remelting, from Kyrgyzstan. This ban, which will be in effect for six months, includes items classified under code 7204 of the EAEU Foreign Economic Activity Commodity Nomenclature.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has been tasked with notifying the World Trade Organization and the Eurasian Economic Commission about the temporary ban. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will inform the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States in accordance with established procedures.
In order to prevent the illegal export of these goods, the Customs Service and the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security have been instructed to take necessary measures.
This decision aims to regulate the export of these materials and ensure they are used within the country for various manufacturing purposes. Stay tuned for updates on this developing situation.
