Kyrgyzstan Looks to Estonia for Digital Solutions Expertise

Bishkek, April 24, 2025 – The Deputy Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, Sanzhar Bolotov, recently held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Kyrgyzstan, Jaap Ora, at the Ministry of Economy.

During the meeting, the discussions focused on the potential for expanding bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries, with a particular emphasis on cooperation in the areas of digitalization, support for startups, logistics, tourism, and investment attraction.

Bolotov expressed the interest of the Kyrgyz Republic in studying and adopting successful digital solutions implemented in Estonia, highlighting the potential for their adaptation in the national economy. The Estonian e-Residency platform, which allows foreign entrepreneurs to conduct business remotely in Estonia, was also a topic of discussion.

“The e-Residency program could serve as a model for implementing similar solutions in Kyrgyzstan to support entrepreneurship and enhance economic ties,” stated Bolotov.

The Ministry of Economy views collaboration with Estonia as a promising area, with potential joint projects in digital transformation, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and the establishment of logistics routes between Central Asia and Europe.

This meeting marks a positive step towards strengthening economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Estonia, paving the way for future cooperation and mutual benefits in various sectors.
