
Kyrgyzstan President Meets with Japanese Business Leaders

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – September 27, 2024: The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, recently held a meeting with business representatives from Japan to discuss potential opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, President Japarov emphasized the significance of joint efforts in creating new prospects for business and highlighted the ongoing reforms in various sectors of Kyrgyzstan’s economy since 2021.
The President stated that a decisive fight against corruption has been declared in the country, aiming to create a safe and secure environment for both citizens and foreign investors to conduct business. He also mentioned the implementation of a liberal tax regime and the introduction of digital technologies in tax management to enhance transparency within the tax system.
Furthermore, President Japarov noted the increase in foreign direct investments into Kyrgyzstan’s economy and reassured that the country remains open to active dialogue and collaboration with foreign partners. Representatives from Japan expressed their interest in cooperation in sectors such as medicine, banking, tourism, power industry, and sports.
Minister of Economy and Commerce, Daniyar Amangeldiev, was tasked with maintaining close communication with Japanese businessmen and offering them comprehensive support in resolving any issues that may arise during the collaboration. Overall, the meeting between the President of Kyrgyzstan and Japanese business representatives signifies a positive step towards enhancing bilateral relations and fostering economic cooperation between the two nations.
