Kyrgyzstan Among Top Buyers of Russian Ice Cream
According to recent data, Kyrgyzstan has emerged as one of the three main buyers of ice cream from Russia, alongside Kazakhstan and China. In the first three months of this year, the country purchased Russian ice cream worth $1.1 million, marking a significant increase of 4.5 times compared to the same period last year.
The Republic of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic imported Russian ice cream for $984,800 and $161,500, respectively. While Kazakhstan reduced its purchases from Russia by two-thirds over the year, Kyrgyzstan saw a quarter increase in imports.
Other potential major buyers like Uzbekistan and Belarus did not disclose their current data. However, in the first three months of 2022, Uzbekistan imported ice cream worth $867,900, and Belarus imported $437,500 of the product.
By the end of 2023, the main importers of Russian ice cream were Kazakhstan ($20.1 million), China ($1.9 million), Azerbaijan ($1.7 million), and Georgia ($1.1 million).
The Russian Federation has seen a surge in ice cream production, reaching record levels of 524 tons over the past year. With increasing demand from countries like Kyrgyzstan, the Russian ice cream industry continues to thrive in international markets.
