Kyrgyzstan Streamlines Certification Process for Disabled Individuals

Kyrgyzstan Simplifies Medical Certification Procedure for Persons with Disabilities
In a recent announcement, Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration Gulnara Baatyrova revealed that Kyrgyzstan has implemented changes to simplify the medical certification procedure for persons with disabilities.
The new regulation states that individuals with irreversible pathologies will no longer need to regularly confirm their disability; instead, they will receive a disability certificate indefinitely. Additionally, these individuals will have individual rehabilitation programs created for them for a period of five years, which will be under the control of health organizations.
Another significant change is the option for citizens who are unable to come to the Medical and Social Expert Commission for an examination, such as those undergoing treatment abroad or with particular health conditions, to undergo an external examination in absentia.
Baatyrova also highlighted that there are 27 commissions within the ministry’s system, through which over 50,000 people receive various services annually.
This new approach aims to streamline the process for persons with disabilities in Kyrgyzstan, providing them with more accessible and long-term support. The government’s efforts to improve the well-being and rights of individuals with disabilities are commendable and demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and equality.
