An international testing center, Anglia Examinations, has been inaugurated at the Kyrgyz National University, as reported by the Ministry of Education and Science. The opening of the center is seen as a significant step in promoting English language knowledge among students and educators in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Altynbek Japarov, head of the Department of School and Extracurricular Education at the Ministry of Education and Science, highlighted the importance of English language proficiency in today’s world. He stated that the project will greatly contribute to enhancing language learning in the country. The ministry is currently focused on promoting multilingualism, with particular emphasis on language training for both students and teachers.
Martin Klotz, an official from Anglia Examinations, explained that in addition to testing, the project offers opportunities for students to pursue online studies at a university in England and receive a double diploma. It also provides access to summer programs for children and students, teacher training courses in the UK, and other benefits.
Furthermore, a skills development center has been established at the Kyrgyz State Technical University, offering workshops and training programs. This center is part of the Development of Financial Autonomy of Kyrgyz Universities project (DEFA), funded under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
The inauguration of these centers marks a significant development in the education sector in Kyrgyzstan, offering new opportunities for students and educators to enhance their skills and knowledge, both locally and internationally.
