Kyrgyzstan Shows Interest in Purchasing Oil from Azerbaijan
In a recent meeting between the Energy Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan in Baku, the issue of purchasing oil from Azerbaijan was discussed. The heads of the Ministries of Energy of both countries met to explore the possibility of signing a contract for oil supply and to discuss other areas of energy cooperation.
During the meeting, initiated by the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Taalaibek Ibraev, the two parties also talked about potential collaboration in projects related to hydropower and renewable energy sources in Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, a proposal was made to consider the installation of charging devices for electric vehicles in Kyrgyzstan, with preferential financing from the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund amounting to $2 million.
Azerbaijan, known for its expertise in oil field development and production, expressed its willingness to cooperate and suggested the formation of a special working group to address the details of oil supplies between the two countries.
This meeting highlights the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan in the energy sector, paving the way for further collaboration in the future.
