Kyrgyzstan’s kokpar team starts strong at World Nomad Games

Kyrgyzstan’s kokpar (zher ulak) team has made a impressive start at the World Nomad Games being held in Kazakhstan. The official Instagram account of the World Nomad Games reported that the Kyrgyz team secured a convincing victory in their first match against Mongolia, with a final score of 16:0 in favor of the Kyrgyz athletes.
A total of nine teams from various countries are participating in the kokpar competitions at the World Nomad Games. The excitement is set to continue as the kok-boru competitions are scheduled to begin today.
Kyrgyzstan has a strong representation at the event, with 268 athletes competing in various disciplines. The V World Nomad Games are taking place in Astana from September 8 to September 14, with over 100 countries and approximately 4,000 participants expected to be part of the Games. Previously, the World Nomad Games were held in Kyrgyzstan in 2014, 2016, and 2018, and in Turkey in 2022.
