Kyrgyzstan-Vietnam Trade Turnover Surges 13-Fold in Five Years

Bishkek – On March 6, 2025, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, met with Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, during his official visit to the country. The press service of the Cabinet reported on the discussions between the two leaders.

During the meeting, Adylbek Kasymaliev expressed Kyrgyzstan’s appreciation for its friendly relations with Vietnam and expressed interest in further developing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

“I am convinced that my visit will open a new page in the history of friendship and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam. Vietnam is an important and reliable partner for us in Southeast Asia. The activation of interaction will bring Kyrgyzstan-Vietnam relations to a new level,” stated the Chairman of the Cabinet.

Kasymaliyev highlighted the impressive growth of trade turnover between the two countries by 13 times from 2019 to 2024. To further enhance economic cooperation, he proposed the creation of a Kyrgyz-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission and the signing of agreements in the areas of investment promotion and protection, economic cooperation, and avoidance of double taxation.

In response, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed the importance of political and economic dialogue and expressed his willingness to support initiatives aimed at the development of trade and investment between the two nations.

“Vietnam greatly values its relations with Kyrgyzstan, a true friend of our country. We are committed to comprehensive cooperation,” stated Prime Minister Chinh.

The discussions between the two sides also encompassed cooperation in trade, investment, industry, agriculture, energy, education, mining, tourism, and culture. Both leaders emphasized the importance of expanding transport and logistics ties to further strengthen the relationship between Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam.
