Bishkek, January 30, 2024 – Kalmira Bilimbek kyzy, Zharkynai Nurlan kyzy, and Nurzat Nurtaeva have secured bronze medals at the prestigious Ivan Yarygin Cup in freestyle wrestling held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. The Department of Physical Culture and Sports made the announcement on Instagram, showcasing the success of the Kyrgyz athletes on the international stage.
The competition saw participation from wrestlers representing 24 countries, with a total of 20 sets of medals being awarded. The prize fund for the tournament amounted to an impressive 7 million rubles, demonstrating the significance and stature of the event in the wrestling world.
This year marked the 35th edition of the Ivan Yarygin Cup, underscoring its enduring legacy and continued appeal among the global wrestling community.
