Kyrgyzstan Youth Football Coach Fired After Asian Cup Disappointment
Bishkek – 24.kg news agency reported that the coach of the youth football team of Kyrgyzstan, Sergei Puchkov, has been fired following an unsuccessful performance at the Asian Cup. The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) announced this decision on social media, indicating that the coaching staff was also relieved of their duties.
Sergei Puchkov had been appointed to the position on December 15, 2024, for a year, to replace Mirlan Eshenov. However, after the national team of Kyrgyzstan lost all three matches at the Asian Cup in China, the KFU decided to make changes in leadership.
