Kyrgyzstani Athlete Secures Bronze in Second Stage of Sambo World Cup

Bishkek – August 17, 2024 – The competition in sport and combat sambo is in full swing in Cholpon-Ata city as part of the second stage of the World Cup. Women in the up to 50-kilogram weight category battled it out for medals on the second day of the event.

Kyrgyzstan’s Kanyshai Amankulova managed to clinch the bronze medal, showcasing her skills and determination on the mat.

The top honors went to Tatyana Fedorova from Russia, while Margarita Bazhaeva from Kazakhstan secured the second spot. Aziza Nazarova from Turkmenistan and a representative from Kyrgyzstan shared the third place on the podium.

In an earlier event, another Kyrgyzstani athlete, Yuson kyzy Akak, claimed third place in the up to 54-kilogram weight category at the sport sambo tournament.

It’s worth noting that the Russian team is competing in all tournaments, except for national ones, under the name FIAS-1 with the flag and anthem of the International Sambo Federation.
