
Kyrgyzstani fugitive finally captured after decade on the run in Salekhard

Kyrgyzstani fugitive wanted for ten years captured in Russia
A Kyrgyzstani individual who has been on the run for a decade was apprehended in Salekhard, Russia, according to a report from the Department of Internal Affairs Ministry of Russia for Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The Kyrgyz Republic citizen, who was placed on the federal wanted list back in 2014, was discovered in Salekhard. On April 25, law enforcement officers managed to detain him.
“During the course of the operational-search activities, the 35-year-old Kyrgyzstani national was apprehended in Salekhard by officers of the criminal investigation department. The individual, who had been evading authorities, has been taken in for questioning,” the statement reads.
The fugitive had been wanted for using a counterfeit passport and had successfully evaded law enforcement for a decade. Following his capture, he was transported to Moscow to face the consequences of his actions, as directed by the police officers of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Izmailovo district.
This successful operation demonstrates the dedication and persistence of law enforcement agencies in tracking down individuals who try to evade justice.
