A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, who had been on the international wanted list, has been detained, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The suspect, identified as A.D., 47, was implicated in distributing materials promoting religious hatred back in 2012. A criminal case was filed against him under Article 332 of the Kyrgyz Criminal Code, initiated by the police department in the Aravan district. Following the allegations, A.D. fled and was subsequently placed on the international wanted list.
Notably, A.D. has a prior criminal record and has been an active member of the extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir since 2006. Investigations revealed that he had been hiding in the Russian Federation as of 2012 and later moved to Turkey in 2016.
Thanks to a collaborative effort by the Service for Combating Extremism and Illegal Migration of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry’s representative office in Turkey, A.D. was successfully detained and returned to Kyrgyzstan on April 24, 2025. He is currently in custody.
The authorities are continuing their efforts to address issues of extremism and illegal activities as they strive to ensure safety and security within the region.
