Kyrgyzstanis in Russia Unpaid Wages Totaling 8 Million Rubles

Bishkek, March 7, 2025 – According to the 24.kg news agency, citizens of Kyrgyzstan working in Russia have finally received their unpaid wages amounting to 8 million rubles. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan’s press service shared this information, highlighting the efforts of the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in St. Petersburg.
The Kyrgyzstanis, who were employed in the Leningrad Oblast, had been facing a challenging situation as they had not been paid for two months. However, with the intervention of the consulate staff and negotiations with the employers, the outstanding wages were successfully paid in full. Approximately 150 Kyrgyzstanis benefited from this resolution, ensuring that they received the compensation they rightfully deserved.
This positive outcome showcases the importance of diplomatic efforts in assisting and protecting the rights of Kyrgyzstani citizens working abroad. It also emphasizes the significance of cooperation between government entities and diplomatic missions in ensuring the well-being and fair treatment of Kyrgyz migrant workers.
