In a recent report by the Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Chicago, Bolotbek Borbiev, it was revealed that Kyrgyzstanis have successfully opened 1,200 companies in the city of Chicago, Illinois, USA. This information was shared at a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration of the Parliament.
The Consul General highlighted that among the businesses established by Kyrgyzstanis, there are approximately 40 restaurants. However, he also pointed out that Kyrgyzstanis often encounter challenges upon arriving in the United States, such as language barriers and difficulties in obtaining a social security number and work permit.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that currently, only one Kyrgyzstani individual is under house arrest in Chicago, with no other convicted individuals in the consular district.
