Kyrgyzstanis Unharmed in Terrorist Attack in Iran
At least 103 killed, 140 injured in blasts at Iran’s Qasem Soleimani’s tomb

The recent bomb explosions near the tomb of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani in the city of Kerman, southeastern Iran, have resulted in at least 103 deaths and 140 injuries. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has reported that no citizens of Kyrgyzstan were among the casualties.
The Kyrgyz Embassy in Iran has assured that it is in constant contact with Kyrgyz citizens in the country and has provided emergency telephone numbers for assistance: +982122830354 and +989352505226.
The tensions in the region can be traced back to the assassination of Major General Qasem Soleimani, who was the commander of an elite unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. His assassination was carried out in a special operation by the United States under then President Donald Trump. This operation was in response to Soleimani’s alleged intentions to attack the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. In retaliation, Iran launched missile strikes on two Iraqi military bases housing U.S.-led coalition personnel.
The situation in the region remains tense, and the recent blasts near Soleimani’s tomb have only added to the ongoing unrest. The international community is closely monitoring the developments in Iran and the surrounding regions.
