Kyrgyzstan Sees a Decline in Butter Exports for the Second Consecutive Year
Bishkek – 09:30, 03 August 2024. The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan has reported a decrease in butter exports for the second year in a row. In 2023, the country’s butter exports decreased by 74.36 percent. Compared to 2022, when Kyrgyzstan exported 5,120 tons of butter for 1,486,279 billion soms, in 2023 only 1,312.9 tons were exported amounting to 531,700.2 million soms.
Furthermore, from January to May 2024, butter exports continued to decline by an additional 61 percent. During the same period in 2023, Kyrgyzstan exported 1,030.8 tons of butter for 427,505.2 million soms, while this year, only 401.8 tons were exported for 150,700.8 million soms.
Looking back, in 2019, Kyrgyzstan exported 3,632.2 tons of butter, followed by 5,198.6 tons in 2020, and 4,328.5 tons in 2021. However, the trend has been on a downward trajectory in the past two years.
