
Kyrgyzstan’s Diaspora: An estimated 600,000 Citizens Living Abroad

With approximately 600,000 Kyrgyzstanis currently residing abroad, the Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Darmankul uulu, has reported on the significant number of citizens living outside of the country. The majority of Kyrgyzstanis abroad are located in Russia, with approximately 379,949 individuals registered on the migration list at the end of 2024. Additionally, it is estimated that around 70,000 Kyrgyzstanis are in Kazakhstan, 32,000 in Turkey, 40,000 in the USA, over 17,000 in South Korea, 15,000 in Germany, and more than 10,000 in the UAE.
This data highlights the diaspora of Kyrgyzstanis around the world, with many seeking opportunities for work, study, and better quality of life in foreign countries. The government of Kyrgyzstan continues to monitor and support its citizens abroad, ensuring their well-being and rights are protected. The diverse presence of Kyrgyzstanis in various countries showcases the global connections and presence of the Kyrgyz community.
