Foreign Trade Turnover in Kyrgyzstan Reaches $7.6 Billion in 2024
The foreign trade turnover in Kyrgyzstan has reached $7.6 billion in 2024, representing a 9.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, as reported by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
Exports accounted for 16.9 percent of the total trade turnover, while imports made up the remaining 83.1 percent. Export deliveries in the first half of 2024 decreased by 3.2 percent compared to the same period in 2023, totaling $1.3 billion. On the other hand, import volumes increased by 12.4 percent, reaching $6.3 billion.
The growth in imports was driven by a surge in supplies of petroleum products, equipment and mechanical devices, natural and liquefied gases, ground transport vehicles and parts, pharmaceutical products, garments, accessories, fruits, and nuts. However, there was a decrease in the supplies of knitted fabric, wood products, fertilizers, and electrical machines and equipment.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade sector has shown positive growth, indicating a promising outlook for the country’s economy in the coming years.
