Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Transport Acquires 453 Units of Special Equipment

Kyrgyzstan Boosts Road Industry with New Specialized Equipment

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, recently handed over 453 units of specialized equipment to the Ministry of Transport and Communications. This equipment was purchased using funds from the state budget, as reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Kasymaliev highlighted that the new equipment will greatly enhance the material and technical capabilities of the road industry in Kyrgyzstan, leading to faster implementation of national projects. The equipment includes asphalt pavers, rollers, loaders, and other specialized machinery essential for road construction and repair.

In 2024, funding for the road industry in Kyrgyzstan reached 22 billion soms, more than double the amount allocated in 2020. This substantial investment allowed for significant achievements such as repairing and constructing over 1,000 kilometers of roads, including paving 802 kilometers. Moreover, it facilitated the initiation of major projects like the alternative North-South road and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

The government also focused on infrastructure development in key areas such as Balykchy-Bokonbaevo-Karakol and Naryn-Bayetov, among others. Furthermore, efforts were made to improve road access to remote villages and enhance infrastructure in tourist destinations.

Kasymaliev emphasized that the modernization of the road network is a government priority that plays a crucial role in driving economic growth, enhancing quality of life, and ensuring social stability. He stated, “Developed infrastructure reduces distances between regions, opens up markets and services, and creates new employment opportunities.”

The investment in specialized equipment and infrastructure development demonstrates Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to advancing its road industry to support the country’s overall progress and prosperity.
