The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has released its financial report for the first quarter of 2025, revealing substantial growth in its capital and overall financial position.
As of March 31, 2025, the total capital of the National Bank reached an impressive 126,194.8 billion soms. This marks a notable increase from the 81,704.5 billion soms reported on the same date last year. The robust growth in capital is primarily attributed to a rise in the reserve for revaluation of foreign currency and monetary gold, which surged to 106,592.4 billion soms, compared to just 57,414.5 billion soms one year earlier.
In a significant turnaround, the National Bank reported a profit of 7,378.6 billion soms for the first quarter of 2025. This stands in stark contrast to the loss of 128 million soms posted during the same period in 2024, highlighting a remarkable recovery.
Key financial metrics remained stable, with the authorized capital fixed at 4 billion soms and the mandatory reserve at 8,263 billion soms, unchanged from the first quarter of 2024. However, the reserve for revaluation of investments in securities measured at fair value through other comprehensive income improved, recording a negative value of 39.2 million soms, a significant recovery from the negative 281 million soms noted a year ago.
Additionally, the total liabilities and capital of the National Bank stood at 620,332 billion soms as of March 31, 2025, an increase from 465,453.1 billion soms for the same date in 2024.
These positive developments indicate a strengthening of the National Bank’s financial stability and performance as it navigates through the economic landscape.
