Kyrgyzstan Ranks 146th in Global Soft Power Index 2025

According to the latest Global Soft Power Index 2025, Kyrgyzstan has moved up two positions and now ranks 146th with 28.8 points. The index, compiled by the consulting organization Brand Finance for six consecutive years, measures a country’s ability to influence the international community through persuasion and attractiveness, rather than coercion (hard power).

Soft power is defined as a state’s positive reputation in the international arena, shaping other countries’ willingness to voluntarily engage in partnerships with that state. The index takes into account various factors such as business and trade, media and communication, culture and heritage, education and science, people and values, international relations, governance, sustainable future, influence, and reputation.

Kyrgyzstan showed significant improvement in the categories of “Education and Science” (+21) and “People and Values” (+10) over the past year. However, the country’s positions worsened in indicators like “Sustainable Future” (-9) and “Media and Communications” (-8).

The United States secured the top spot in the ranking, followed by China and the United Kingdom in second and third place respectively. Russia is in 16th place, Ukraine in 46th, and Belarus in 80th place. Tajikistan ranks 141st, Uzbekistan 99th, Kazakhstan 87th, and Turkmenistan 134th in the index.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s improved ranking demonstrates its growing influence and positive reputation on the global stage.
