Kyrgyzstan’s Trade Turnover with Turkic States Increases by 62 Percent

Bishkek – 14:01, 18 October 2024 – Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover with the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) countries increased by 62 percent from 2019 to 2023, according to Economy Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev at the 13th meeting of the OTS Ministers of Trade and Economy.

During this period, exports saw a 54.6 percent increase, while imports rose by almost 66 percent. Minister Amangeldiev highlighted the positive growth trend, stating, “This shows that we are moving in the right direction. However, we cannot stop at the success achieved, and it is necessary to look for new ways to deepen trade and economic cooperation.”

The 13th meeting of the Ministers of Trade and Economy of the OTS countries is currently underway in Bishkek. Delegations from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and Turkmenistan are participating in the discussions aimed at strengthening trade relations and fostering economic cooperation among the member states.

As Kyrgyzstan continues to strengthen its ties with OTS countries, the focus remains on exploring new opportunities to enhance trade and economic cooperation for mutual benefit and sustainable growth in the region.
