Labor Ministry Specialist Arrested for Extortion in Jalal-Abad Region
Bishkek – 15:55, 23 September 2024 – An employee of the Labor, Social Security, and Migration Department in the Jalal-Abad region has been detained for allegedly extorting money from low-income citizens. The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported that the department’s leading specialist was caught on hidden camera extorting money in exchange for expediting social benefit payments.
The man has been placed in a temporary detention facility, and investigators are currently looking into the involvement of other department officials in this case.
