Lachin’s Occupation and Victory Museum Complex gets foundation stone laid
President Ilham Aliyev Attends Groundbreaking Ceremony for Occupation and Victory Museum Complex in Lachin
On May 28th, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the Occupation and Victory Museum Complex in the city of Lachin. The ceremony featured the laying of a foundation stone for the complex, which will be built in the Lachin district. During the ceremony, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli briefed the President on the planned works for the complex.
The Lachin Occupation and Victory Museum Complex will consist of two museums, as well as a memorial park that will display the ruins of many destroyed historical and cultural monuments in the city. The logo for the complex features juniper trees, which are common in the Lachin district and are known for their mysterious beauty and rich nature.
The Museum Complex will cover an area of 3.5 hectares and will be located near the main road networks and city center. Art installations reflecting the themes of the museums will be displayed, and a variety of exhibitions covering different themes will be organized in the halls.
The Memorial Park will also feature artistic installations that will enrich the ruins of the historical and cultural monuments on display. This open-air museum will serve as a reminder of the hardships and victories faced by the people of Azerbaijan.
