Navy to Hold Official Parade at Sea for Republic Day and 100th Anniversary of Turkish Republic
Rear Admiral Fırat, the Head of Defense Planning and Project Management of the Naval Forces Command, recently provided details about the upcoming ceremonies in his speech. The official parade at sea, which will commemorate the 29 October Republic Day and the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, will be a grand spectacle featuring the participation of numerous ships and helicopters under the command of Naval Forces Commander Ercüment Tatlıoğlu.
During the passage of the ships, an important tradition will be observed. The vessels will salute President Erdogan at the Vahdettin Mansion using the chimariva, a unique greeting specific to the maritime world. This gesture symbolizes the respect and honor bestowed upon the President.
The official parade at sea will witness the participation of 100 ships and 24 helicopters. The convoy will be led by Naval Forces Commander Ercüment Tatlıoğlu and will comprise a total of 7,896 personnel. Among them, there will be 1,217 officers, 3,826 petty officers, and 2,853 specialist non-commissioned officers and privates.
The transition will be carried out under the guidance of TCG Anadolu, with Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu serving as the flag officer on board. Additionally, Navy Commander Vice Admiral Kadir Yıldız will be present during the official parade at sea.
The event will commence at 17:00 with TCG Anadolu leading the way and employing the chimariva to greet President Erdogan. This marks a significant moment in the history of the Turkish Navy and serves to showcase their might and capabilities.
