Last Minute: 353 Suspects Arrested in FETÖ Operation

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has revealed details of operations targeting the FETÖ terrorist organization in 31 provinces, particularly in Antalya. The operations, known as ‘Penkaç-40,’ targeted a doner restaurant chain associated with FETÖ and aimed to cut off financial resources for the organization. According to Minister Yerlikaya, a total of 353 suspects were apprehended, including 10 public staff members who were allegedly involved in financing FETÖ through the restaurant chain.
In his statement, Minister Yerlikaya explained that the doner chain operated as a franchise under the guise of a legitimate business but was actually funding FETÖ activities. The investigation revealed informal partnerships and financial transactions that were used to funnel money to the terrorist organization. Additionally, MASAK investigations uncovered schemes where money was disguised as product purchases and funnelled to FETÖ members.
Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the ongoing efforts to combat terrorist financing and commended the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies involved in the operations. The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, along with other provincial authorities and security agencies, played a key role in the successful crackdown on FETÖ’s financial activities.
The government remains committed to rooting out terrorist organizations and their sources of funding to ensure the safety and security of the country. The recent operations against FETÖ are a testament to the dedication of law enforcement and intelligence agencies in protecting Turkey from terrorist threats.
