Last Minute Capture: Suspect Ali Nuhoğlu Caught with 40 Million Pounds
Ekrem Imamoglu, President of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), and 99 other suspects are under investigation for various crimes, including being a criminal organization manager, bribery, fraud, and violating tender regulations. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has also initiated investigations into allegations of aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization.
During the police investigation, it was discovered that Ekrem Imamoglu owned three villas worth 50 million pounds, while Ali Nuhoğlu had 40 million pounds in his possession. Additionally, it was revealed that Emrah Bağdatlı, who claimed to be an advisor to Murat Ongun, the Chairman of IMM Media Inc., had left the country two weeks ago.
Further scrutiny into Bağdatlı’s activities revealed that he had secured over 60 tenders between 2022 and 2024 through companies he had established. Moreover, it was found that Bağdatlı had close ties with Kiptaş and Kültür AŞ, receiving tenders through these entities as well.
As the investigation unfolded, it became apparent that Bağdatlı was planning to flee the country. He had purchased plane tickets for a flight to Houston on March 5 at 08.45. However, police intervention led to the discovery that Bağdatlı had left the country through the Ipsala Border Gate.
