Last Minute News: CHP Voting on Final Day of Election Process in Turkey
The candidacy process for the presidential election in the Republican People’s Party (CHP) is currently underway. As per the pre-election calendar, today is the deadline for applicants to become CHP members in order to be eligible to vote in the election on March 23. So far, the only candidate in the pre-election phase is Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
Following today’s deadline, voter lists will be printed on Monday, March 3. On March 16, the voter lists will be displayed at district presidencies for review. Finally, on Sunday, March 23, CHP members will cast their votes at approximately 4 thousand polling stations across Turkey.
