Leapmotor challenges technical inspection results in Uzbekistan, requests re-examination after certification suspension
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Leapmotor has responded to the suspension of certification for its cars in Uzbekistan. The company expressed objections to the test results and called for a transparent and objective re-inspection to restore the situation.
The certification of passenger vehicles under the Leapmotor brand was recently suspended in Uzbekistan due to a defect found in the Leapmotor C16 model. The inspection authority responsible for technical regulation oversight reported that the level of electromagnetic interference produced by the vehicle exceeded the permissible limit by 16 times.
In a statement released by Leapmotor, the company clarified that the vehicle tested in Uzbekistan was not sent by them, and they have not received clear information about the test conditions or the selected vehicle’s condition. Leapmotor reiterated their objections to the test results and expressed hope for a fair resolution through a re-inspection process.
The company’s response comes after Uzbekistan’s decision to halt the acceptance of certification applications for Leapmotor vehicles. Leapmotor is determined to address the issue and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in Uzbekistan.
